Oral History Food Lecture

Oral History Food Lecture

from $125.00

Food is the connector of cultures. This is typically an in peson lecture of about 30 to 45 minute breakdown of Gullah/ Geechee and Sea Island Native connection to modern foods and recipes. The purpose is to teach tolerance through foods and create a social inclusion. We touch bases on the difference between South Soul foods and indigenous foods that shaped American food culture. We do offer a Gullah food demonstration, which will include the making of a dish or bringing a dish (depending on time and location and accessibilty) and a step by step explaination of the dish and it origin and modern day connection
